Widening A9- BA-HO

MNE B.V. is currently actively working on the widening of the A9 motorway between the Holendrecht junction and Schiphol East. MNE is busy there with the complete demolition and dismantling work of lesser objects, including one viaduct over the Holendrechterweg in Ouderkerk aan de Amstel, one viaduct over the Beneluxbaan in Amstelveen and the Schiphol bridge over the ring canal at Schiphol-East.

Circular reuse

Some of the materials released will be reused in a new viaduct to be built in the A44 motorway. A great initiative by Rijkswaterstaat in the context of circular reuse of demolition materials. This is also called ‘harvesting’ instead of demolition.

These are mainly the concrete T-beams of the viaducts that are ‘harvested’ and reused in the new viaduct after minor processing. The steel temporary emergency bridge at Schiphol East, which was built especially for this project, will also be reused elsewhere as soon as the old bridges have been replaced.
